Easy Angle Guide Adjustment

The newly improved angle guides on the Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener MK.2 can be changed between 20 degrees and 25 degrees at the flick of a switch, literally. Rather than the old removable guides found on the original Knife and Tool Sharpener, the new edition has a switch. In the up position, the angle is 20 degrees and in the down position is 25 degrees. No separate parts to keep track of.

Variable Speed

The MK. 2 now features variable speed. Choose between the slower setting for sharpening knives and the higher speed for more aggressive grinding on axes, mower blades and gardening tools.

Versatile

The Work Sharp Knife Sharpener can sharpen just about any knife. This sharpener was designed from the start to sharpen a variety of knives. We’ve tested it ourselves on hunting knives, kitchen knives and even fillet knives. It handles knives beautifully.

Abrasive Belts

The Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener Mk.2 uses abrasive belts to do the sharpening. These belts measure 12″ long and 1/2″ wide. The kit comes with two P80 grit, one P220 grit and two 6000 grit belts. The 80 grit is used for heavy grinding, the 220 is used for sharpening and the 6000 polishes the edge to a near mirror finish.

Sharpens Many Types of Knives

Unlike many sharpeners that only sharpen regular straight edges, the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener can sharpen many hard to sharpen edges. It can sharpen fine blades or thick blades. It can sharpen serrated blades. It can even sharpen blades with a gut hook.

Sharpens More Than Just Knives

While we call it a knife sharpener, it does more than just sharpen knives. It has a guided system for sharpening scissors. Also, by removing the guides completely, you can use the abrasive belts to grind (and/or) sand in hard to reach areas. We have found this feature to be very useful for sharpening lawnmower blades. By using the P80 grit belt, you can easily sharpen your lawnmower blades, (even the mulching blades).

Easy To Use

This sharpener comes with an excellent manual. The folks at Work Sharp do a nice job of making the manual very quick and easy to use.

Use Anywhere

This tool plugs in to any 120V outlet. It can even be used in your car or truck with a small power inverter.

Q. Can you tell me the colors of each of the grits?

A. The green belt is P80 grit, the red belt is P220 grit and the purple/gray belt is 6000 grit.

Q. Can I sharpen any knife or just some knives on this sharpener?

A. The Work Sharp WSKTS Knife and Tool Sharpener is very versatile. We haven’t found a knife that can’t be sharpened on this sharpener. The guide system for outdoor knives allows very thick blades to be sharpened. On some electric sharpeners, thicker blades can be problematic because the guide system doesn’t accommodate thick blades. We don’t recommend it for single bevel Japanese knives and knives sharpened at a less than 20 degree bevel angle. (The newer and more versatile Ken Onion Edition Work Sharp Knife Sharpener can easily sharpen knives from 15 to 30 degrees.)

Q. Can it sharpen gut hooks?

A. Yes, it does a nice job with gut hooks. The flexible abrasive will get into the tight inside corner of a gut hook. You do need to remove the guide system for this operation.

Q. Is this easy to use?

A. Yes, the Work Sharp WSKTS is very easy to use. It also includes a very helpful manual with many helpful illustrations.

Q. Can this sharpen scissors?

A. Yes, unlike many electric knife sharpeners, this one will actually sharpen scissors. The bevel angle on scissors is very different and the Work Sharp WSKTS sharpener has a guide for scissors. It is very easy to use.
